Robert Bentley’s decisive 56% to 44% victory over Bradley Byrne in the July 13th republican runoff set the stage for the November 2nd general election between Bentley and current agriculture commissioner and democratic party nominee Ron Sparks. This race and others around Alabama will be the focus of a series I’m starting called “Alabama 2010”. The goal of the series is to provide an informed, fact based analysis of Alabama’s candidates, issues, and races. While I plan to base this series on facts, I will express my opinions and interpretations of facts throughout.
Coming up, expect to get detailed insight on both of these gubernatorial candidates’ backgrounds, records in government, and stances on key issues including gambling, education, taxation and ethics reform.
